Join us this coming Tuesday to taste some truly unique and award winning wines.  Alberto will be hosting our tasting and presenting 5 wines from 3 different wineries for everyone to enjoy.

We will be tasting:

Pfefferer
100% Moscato Giallo grapes
Muscat describes a family of wines, which is thought to be the oldest cultivated vitis vinifera varietal.Today, it is grown all over the world and in styles ranging from dry, sparkling and sweet. Clean and clear pale straw color, slightly golden-grey.  This wine is very aromatic with flavors of golden delicious apples, orange rind and white flowers.

From Fontefico Winery located in Abruzzo:
La Canaglia Pecorino Superiore
100% Pecorino Grapes
This wine comes from a specific vineyard owned by the Fontefico brothers.  “La Canaglia” translates to “rascal”  in Italian.  The Canaglia vineyard from which the grapes come from , requires much work and give very little yield.  However the wine that it produces is consistently exceptional.  Chamomile and apple blossom aromas with tastes of citrus and tropical fruit with a slight almond finish

From La Ca Nova Winery located in Piemonte:
Barbaresco
100% Nebbiolo grapes
This wine is hand harvested and aged 16 months in oak and 10 months in bottle before release. Full bodied intense fruit with black cherry notes 90-92 points, Antonio Galloni  Tasted from tank prior to bottling, the 2016 Barbaresco is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine. Rich, aromatically intense and utterly beguiling, the 2016 captivates from the very first taste. The 2016 is medium in body and yet delivers so much flavor intensity, in the way only Nebbiolo can. In a word: fabulous.

Barbaresco Montefico vigna Bric Mentina
100% Nebbiolo grapes
Aged 18 months in 3000L oak casks, then aged 10 months in bottle. Full-bodied, ripe fruit, remarkable tannins and a very long finish. 7,000 bottles produced.  93-96 points, Antonio Galloni  La Ca’ Nova’s 2016 Barbaresco Montefico Vigna Bric Mentina is magnificent. All the elements are in the right place. Vertical construction and intense aromatic depth give the Montefico much of its unique feel.

Barbaresco Montestefano
100% Nebbiolo grapes
Aged 18 months in 3000L oak casks, then aged 10 months in bottle. Full-bodied, ripe fruit, firm tannins and a long finish. 6,500 bottles produced.  93-96 points, Antonio Galloni   Another super-promising, embryonic wine, the 2016 Barbaresco Montestefano is powerful, dark and explosive in the glass. A wine of both tremendous density and detail, the 2016 has a lot to offer. Sage, mint, lavender and plum develop in the glass, but it is the wine’s resonance and overall richness that leave a lasting impression.
