Fall is here and we are ready to begin our wine tastings once again.  

On Thursday we will be welcoming back Antonio Chiavaroli from Marramiero Winery located in Abruzzo Italy.  Antonio hosted one of our very first Wine Dinners in May 2016.  

Marramiero Winery

In May 2016 Marramiero was one of the first wineries we invited to host our wine dinners and it was an instant success. 

They are returning to the Baltimore market and have some fantastic new wines we will showcase for a Thursday Night Tasting

The Masseria Sant’Andrea vineyard is located in the heart of Abruzzo on a summit 270 meters above sea level.  Here, for more than a century, the Marramiero family dedicated itself to the cultivation of indigenous vines such as Montepulciano and Trebbiano as well as other international varietals of considerable stature.

The Marramiero family has cultivated grapes since the beginning of the last century. After a careful selection of existing rootstocks in the sixties and seventies, they planted new vineyards to expand production.

In the early 90s Dante Marramiero married mmodern technology with traditional methods to create the current winery.  

Tasting 4 Wines

The Whites

Altare
100% Trebbiano Grapes
Intense flavor of citrus fruit and spices.  Refined in oak barrels gives this wine great complexity

Chardonnay Colline Pescaresi
100% Chardonnay Grapes
Straw yellow in color with a tropical fruit bouquet.  

The Reds

Incanto
100% Montepulciano d’ Abruzzo
Ruby red color with a purple hue.  Plums, dates figs are all present in this elegant wine.  
 
Inferi Riserva
100% Montepulciano Grapes 
Produced in limited quantities this wine is aged in French and Slovanian oak for 14-18 months.  Full body, dark ruby red color, vanilla , tobacco , licorice profile.  This wine shows that these guys are one of the best in Abruzzo
