A Special Evening with Casanova di Neri

We are excited to welcome Marianna Neri, third generation of the Neri family and daughter of Giacomo Neri, to CuVino for a special evening featuring the wines of Casanova di Neri.

Marianna will be here to personally present the wines and share the story of her family’s estate, vineyards and winemaking traditions in Montalcino, Tuscany. Founded in 1971 by her grandfather, Giovanni Neri, Casanova di Neri has grown into one of the most recognized names in Brunello di Montalcino, with a focus on expressing the character of each vineyard and vintage.

Marianna will be showing 4 wines. Three of the wines are from the outstanding 2021 vintage:

IRROSSO TOSCANA IGT 2022
Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon
Bright and inviting, with ripe red berries, cherry, violet and subtle spice. Smooth and beautifully balanced, with soft tannins, refreshing acidity and an approachable character.

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO – WHITE LABEL 2021
100% Sangiovese Grosso
Classic Brunello with ripe cherry, wild berries, herbs and subtle spice, followed by lively acidity and polished tannins. Elegant, balanced and remarkably long on the finish.

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO – TENUTA NUOVA 2021
100% Single vineyard Sangiovese Grosso
Powerful and complex, with dark cherry, blackberry, herbs, tobacco and spice. Full-bodied and concentrated, yet beautifully balanced with vibrant acidity and refined tannins.
The 2021 Tenuta Nuova received 98 points from both James Suckling and Wine Spectator, making it one of the standout wines of the vintage.

PIETRADONICE TOSCANA IGT 2021
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Rich and powerful, with blackberry, blueberry, cassis, graphite and hints of mint. Full-bodied with firm, elegant tannins and a long, complex finish.
Pietradonice is a single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Casanova di Neri, offering a fascinating contrast to the estate’s Sangiovese-based Brunellos.

This is a unique opportunity to taste three different expressions of the 2021 vintage from Casanova di Neri — from the approachable Irrosso, through their classic Brunello, to the powerful Tenuta Nuova and the Cabernet Sauvignon-based Pietradonice.

And most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Marianna Neri, a member of the family carrying the Casanova di Neri tradition into its third generation, and hear the story of these wines directly from the family.
