Straw yellow color. offering to the nose fruity flavors of apricot, peach and pear. Soft in the mouth, structured and elegant with good acidity and strong minerality. Greco di Tufo is named after the tiny town of Tufo in Avellino, Campania. The name Tufo is derived from “tuff;” the soft, volcanic rock that makes up the subsoil of the region. This distinctive soil is thought to impart a particular minerality to the wine flavor profile.

Red:

Aglianico Taurasini
100% Aglianico  grapes
The history of the Urciuolo Vini winery was born in the heart of Irpinia.  Intense red with garnet reflections, smell: hints of tobacco, wood, freshly roasted coffee, taste : dry, robust and tannic, recommended pairings : ideal with roasted red meats, game, dishes based on spices or truffles, hard and aged cheeses.

We will be tasting  1 wine from Sardegna:

Red:

Cannonau di Sardegna
100% Cannonau Grapes
Bright ruby with violet reflections that become garnet with time. Intense aromatic structure of ripe red fruits like cherry and blackberry, but also flowers such as violet and dried rose and aromatic herbs. In the mouth it immediately reveals the character of an elegant velvety wine, with good fruitiness mouth feel. The tannins are well integrated and the balanced acidity accompany the wine in the persistent finish.
Cannonau is originally imported from Spain, where it is known as Alicante or Garnacha. In the Rhone region, France, it is called Grenache.

We will be tasting 1 wine from the Piedmont Region:

Nizza D.O.C.G
100% Barbera Grapes
Nizza was recognized with its own stand-alone designation for top Barbera in 2014.  Amistà Nizza DOCG is an elegant wine with excellent structure and great aging potential. It is rich in color with hints of granite, and has an intense and complex nose with aromas of blackberry, ripe red fruits, spices, and a balsamic note. On the palate, the wine is intense and balanced, with a lingering finish.  This wine is sourced from a 2.6 hectare vineyard.  This is another level of Barbera that is a must try.
